Dealing with a Burn

  • Sometimes things we wear can keep burning us after we've taken away the heat source.

Rings and other metal jewelry can stay hot and keep burning you, and absorbent materials like socks and sweaters can soak up hot liquids and make scalding burns that much worse.

Take away anything hot as fast as you can!

  • The best way to deal with a burn? Cool it!

Running cool water of a burn for several minutes not only makes it feel better, but can reduce the amount of swelling and blistering caused by the burn.
