Grades 5-8 - Become a Senior Fire Warden

Electrical Safety

  • Electricity can be just as dangerous as fire, and if you aren't paying attention, a shock can come without warning!

The best way to avoid shock is to pay attention to plugs and wires. Plug outlets should have their covers installed, and you should never use anything with a frayed cord or a loose, 'droopy' plug.

If you notice anything wrong with your outlets or power cords, let your parents know, so they can have a professional replace them.

  • Wires from power lines are extremely dangerous. Even trained professionals won't get near them without a full compliment of tools and protective wear!

If you ever see a downed power line, call 9-1-1 and report it immediately!
