Every fire warden should be aware of how fire safe their household is! Use the Sparky the Fire Dog Fire Safety Checklist to make sure your household is fire safe. If you're missing anything on that list, let your parents know!
Your household should also have an escape plan. Use either graph paper or the Sesame Workshop's Escape Plan Template to map the best exits from each room in your house! And remember, you should know two ways out of every room.
You and your family should also designate a meeting place outside of your home. This makes sure that you always know if everyone got out alright.
If you evacuate and anyone is missing, including your pets, don't go back in! Tell the firefighters as soon as they show up, and they'll be able to safely go in and rescue any family member you're missing.
